In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests memorials be directed to the Hanford Community Church, MercyOne Hospice of North Iowa or One Vision. Yvonne Eva Clark was born February 28, 1938 in Lucas County, IA on the family farm, the daughter of Floyd and Leila (Maddy) Clark. Growing up, Yvonne attended Lucas County Country School and Knoxville High School before the family moved to Britt, where she graduated from in 1956. She continued her education at Waldorf College before meeting the love of her life, Carrol Rossiter. On December 1, 1957 the couple was married at the Bethel Baptist Church in Britt and blessed with four children, Carmen, Connie, Christy, and Charles. The family made their home in Thompson and later Rockwell, before establishing the family farm near Nora Springs. For 15 years Yvonne managed the Baskin Robbins in Mason City, later working in the offices at Sears for 14 years. But most of all, Yvonne was a devoted, attentive wife and mother who helped run the family farm for 64 years. Yvonne had a huge heart and was always looking out for the well being of others. She enjoyed time spent outdoors, whether it was mowing the lawn or playing yard games with family. Her gardens seemed to grow each year, producing countless jars of canned goods to enjoy and share. Yvonne found joy in sewing and quilting. Her handiwork still adorns the houses of those she loved in the form of hand embroidery and cross stitched towels and blankets as well as the numerous quilts built with friend, Phyllis. When she wasn’t sewing, Yvonne was often found with a good book in her hands. She enjoyed bike rides with her family and always looked forward to a good batch of homemade noodles. Yvonne and Carrol were longtime members of Hanford Community Church. Her faith and church community brought her unmatched strength throughout the years. Yvonne enjoyed time spent playing cards and looked forward to going out to dinner with friends. Most of all, she loved her family and was delighted to become a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her eyes and heart lit up when surrounded by those she loved. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Carrol; children, Carmen Langford of Sacramento, CA, Connie Rossiter, Christy Rossiter both of Mason City and Charles Rossiter of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Christina (Gilbert Toledo) Langford and Crystal Langford; great-granddaughter Amelyha Rosenburg; sister-in-law, Genny Clark of Greene; brother-in-law, Leland Wood of Mason City; as well as numerous extended family members and cherished friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, siblings, Joycelyn Wood and Howard Clark, son-in-law, Jim Langford and Christy’s late fiance, Dan Chizek.
