Stephen "Steve" Rambo Sr.

May 22, 1972 - February 5, 2022

Stephen Rambo Sr., 49, of Mason City passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center with family at his side. A celebration of his life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at the North Iowa Events Center, Kenney Building, 3700 4th St SW, Mason City, IA 50401 with Deacon Regan Banks officiating. Stephen Rambo was born May 22, 1972 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Janice Marie Rambo. He graduated from Cooley High School in Michigan and life soon brought him to Iowa. For many years he worked at Smithfield as a production operator and most recently with Rail Maintenance. On September 5, 2014 he married Jennifer Lewis and the couple enjoyed their blended family together in Mason City. Stephen had cooking skills to be envious of, he loved to care for others with his food. Whether it was fried chicken, steak, bacon or even rice, he had a way of making it delicious. Steve had a heart two sizes too big and shared the love with everyone he met, and truly never knew a stranger. Everyone was just a part of his big extended family. And Steve loved his family; he cherished time spent with each and every one of them, especially his beloved grandchildren. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Jennifer; his children, Sharnay Rambo, Deosha Foster and Jeremiah Hart, Justina Lenning, Bailee (Erick) Hernandez, Tavros (Trevor) Lenning and Angel (Joseph) Malone; grandchildren, Elijah Rambo, Penelope Lyones, Braeya Leaman and Mar-Zell Isiaiah Stefano; great-nieces and nephew, Melanie, Akaela, and Xavier Rambo; twin sister, Stephania (Ronald) Thompson; nephew, Tyrone Rambo; niece, Danielle Whiseton; brother-in-law, Stanley (Amber) Lewis and Chris(Amanda) Wilson; mother-in-law, Donna (Jeff) Rench; father-in-law, Stanley Lewis; and cherished friends, DeLayne Germundson, TJ Walker, Ken Haley, and Tony Walker ; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Preceding him in death are his sons, Stephen Rambo Jr. and Darrion Rambo; mother, Janice Rambo; mother of his sons, Debbie Rambo; as well as numerous extended family members. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Avenue North, Clear Lake, IA 50428. (641) 357-2193. ColonialChapels.com
