Patrick Gary Aird

September 21, 1949 - January 30, 2022

Patrick G. Aird, 72 of Mason City passed away January 30, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice Inpatient Unit. Patrick Gary Aird was born September 21, 1949 in Spirit Lake, MN the son of Patrick Donald and Pearl Bernice (Mann) Aird. He graduated from Newman Catholic High School in Mason City. It was soon after Patrick enlisted into the United States Army where he served as a Sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1971. Later Patrick returned to the military, continuing her service until 1991. For many years Patrick volunteered at the Mason City Library as well as the Red Cross. On July 9, 2011 he married Darlene White and the couple made their home in Mason City. Patrick also worked in Veterans’ Affairs for some time. Patrick enjoyed building and working with his hands. Whether it was building a fence for the backyard or fixing things around the house. He always had a good sense of humor and enjoyed sharing it with those around him. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene Aird; daughters, Ashley and Terri; many beloved grandchildren; a brother, Scott Aird; sister, Ruth Bose; Darlene’s daughters, Tiffany and Jaclyn; Darlene’s siblings; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Preceding him in death are his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; and Darlene’s parents, Mollie and Charlie White.
