Should friends desire, condolences and memorials may be left in care of Julie’s mother, Fran Steltzner. The daughter of Mike and Fran (Hill) Steltzner, Julie Anne was born on April 8, 1975 in Mason City. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1993 before attending NIACC and Iowa Central Community College. For many years Julie worked for MercyOne Medical Center in surgery scheduling. She had a passion for caring for others and spent countless hours with her nieces and nephews. She was so proud of her nieces and nephews and was overjoyed with the addition of her great nieces. Many Sunday afternoons were spent with her family at the I35 Speedway where they had a tradition of cheering on dirt track racing. She loved her dogs, Snuggles and Harley; they were a constant source of comfort to her. Julie carried her heart on her sleeve and loved her family and friends dearly. Ten years ago Julie’s addiction to alcohol gained a stronger hold and took her zest for life. From then on she was a version of herself we had not seen before, and as hard as Julie fought, she was unable to overcome. Throughout those years Julie had glimpses of hope and times of sobriety, and her family fought for her tirelessly as she tried time and again to succeed with recovery. Julie is survived by her mother, Fran Steltzner; her sister, Jodie (Bill) Fistler; nieces and nephews, Bryce Orfield, Michaela (Jeremiah) Colon and Ericka (Austin Brown) Orfield; great nieces, Kameron, Rylee, Zoey, and Allisyn; paternal grandfather, Roland Barr; and many extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Mike Steltzner; uncle, Dave Steltzner, Jerry Hill; and grandparents, William and Bernice Steltnzer, and Lester and Dorothy Hill.
