Joy L. Beckman-Tesch

October 12, 1941 - August 24, 2021

Joy Beckman-Tesch, 79, of Nora Springs, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at her home in Nora Springs. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Mason City Church of the Nazarene, 509 S. Carolina Ave., Mason City, with Pastor Lori Fish officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Joy’s service at the church on Saturday. Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Joy’s name in care of her family. Joy was born on October 12, 1941 in Cabool, Missouri to Pete and Gladys (Murphy) Darter. She attended and graduated from Rockford High school in 1959. For many years Joy worked as a nurse’s aide in Mason City, nearly 20 of which were spent at the IOOF Home in Mason City. On August 2, 1986 Joy was united in marriage to Richard Beckman in Mason City; together they would be blessed with 15 years of marriage prior to his death in 2002. For the last five years Joy had enjoyed the companionship of Duane Tesch, and on March 6, 2020 they were united in marriage in Charles City. In her free time Joy loved reading, attending family events and birthday parties. Her greatest love in life came from becoming a grandmother and sharing her love of The Lord with others. Joy is survived by her husband, Duane Tesch, Nora Springs; sons, Darold Morrow, Manly, and Don (Nancy) Morrow, Pittsburg, KS; step son, Cory Tesch; grandchildren, Jalissa, Joshua, Tyler; great grandchildren, Serenity, Anna, Tyler, Lee, Marissa, and Cadon; siblings, Betty Balkende, Vera Blare, and Roy Darter; friends of the family, Robin Fingalsen and Ethan Lines. Joy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Beckman; sons, Larry, Michael, and Dirk; and sister, Bonnie Darter.
