Bonnie Jean Seifert Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bonnie Jean Seifert was born in the middle of an earthquake on May 26, 1938 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Ernest Sr. and Ester (Handeland) Griffith. Growing up in Spirit Lake with her two brothers and sister, Bonnie graduated from Spirit Lake High School. She made her home in Northern Iowa where she and her husband's raised their children, Betty, Beverly, Dean, Todd, Troy and Doug. For almost 20 years Bonnie worked at the IOOF Home in Laundry and enjoyed time spent with the residents. She was a faithful woman and longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church. Bonnie volunteered countless hours, worked as a greeter and “coffee lady” for numerous years. She loved her family dearly and cherished time spent together. Bonnie will be remembered for her endless supply of homemade peanut butter or chocolate chip cookies. The cookie tins were never empty. Survivors include her children, Betty (William) Knoke of Mason City, Beverly (Kevin) Callison, Warrenville, IL and Doug (Dawn) Barragy, Mason City; step-son, Todd (Kim) McMurray of Mason City; grandchildren, Heather Knoke, Emily (Daniel) Quinby, Zeni Irvin, Danielle, Amanda, Halie, and Emma McMurray, Cassie Cronk, Kyle Ries, Josh Hobenga, Cherokee Cronk, Kayla Mullenbach, Koby Barragy and Krystl Barragy; great-grandchildren, Jane, Abram, Caleb, Olivia, Jason Dean, Janaeyia, Conner and Caden; brother, Ernest Jr.; sister, Mary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceding her in death are her parents, husbands; children, Troy, Dean and infant son, Darrell; brother, Donnie; and many extended family members.
