Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Center, 305 Elm St E, Rockwell, IA, where a Scriptural Wake and a time for remembrances will begin at 7:00 pm. Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Andy’s honor to Rockwell EMT’s or Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Andy was born on October 24, 1929, in Charles City, IA, the son of Leo and Laura (Osier) Frascht. He attended Marble Rock Community School. As the oldest boy of ten children, he began helping full-time on the family farm after eighth grade. Farming was his passion and his life’s work. His farming career began with horse-drawn equipment and ended with computerized tractors and combines. He mentored many young farmers throughout the years, sharing his knowledge and love of the land. He climbed out of the combine for the last time at 89 years young. In 1949 Andy married Jeanette Swick in Greene, IA, and together they had three daughters. In keeping with tradition, Andy and his family continued to work hard on the farm together, building and maintaining a legacy of hard work and dedication. He taught his girls, from a young age, to have a strong work ethic, the value of a dollar, and the importance of faith and family. Beyond working the land, Andy loved the game of baseball and was a big fan of the Minnesota Twins. He hoped to visit all MLB stadiums. He always wanted to own a red Corvette, and that dream came true in 2014. In his free time, he enjoyed watching old westerns, playing cribbage, shooting pool, and driving around to check crops. Above all else, he cherished time spent with family; the annual Christmas pool tournament, fireworks on the 4th of July, and visits with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to name a few. Andy will be missed greatly by his three daughters, Teresa Sido of Rockwell, Sheryl Frascht of Aviano, Italy, and Kathy (Kay) Stiles of Rockwell; and their mother, Jeanette Leyen; grandchildren Bradley, Andrea, Ashley, Marc, Jared, Jordan, and Colin; great-grandchildren Caleb, Gage, Devan, Kyleigh, Liam, Adelyn and Jace; siblings Richard, Earl, Carl, and Carol; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Andy is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Louise, Florence, Helen, Anne, Paul; and son-in-law Roger Sido.
